As some of you may remember, I had an "incident" with a product by Arnott's.

Then I did what any ordinary angsty and spiteful consumer would do, I took photos, ranted about it on a blog, made a fuss, threw a tantrum and moaned about how unlucky I am to be involved in such an unfortunate incident.

Then, seemingly out of the blue, an unnamed representative from Arnott's left a comment

We then corresponded by e-mail in a light atmosphere and much understandings were had.

Location of purchase was questioned and compensations discussed.

Anyway, this arrived pretty quickly and in an URGENT manner.

I was given an RM20 voucher for my trouble and emotional breakdown.

The voucher was later used to buy fruits.

At least I'm honest.

When I checked-out, the final price totaled to around RM200+

I then thought to myself there must be a better way.

Went to a restaurant for food the other day.

Came back.

A list of stuff I've lost. Not too bad considering my laptop is still around. I seem to often get my things stolen. The biggest pain would probably be the camera. NO WAIT. The hard disk.

Yes. The hard disk had at least 4 years of photographs in it. Oh well. At least I'm wiser now and I'm putting most of my personal media on cloud storage. Using Dropbox at the moment.

My safety tint did nothing to prevent the theft but did keep the shattered glass together.

Went to the Proton service center. They said that the spare part will arrive on the next day and the car would be fine and dandy and for pickup tomorrow.

At least half of their promise came to fruition. The part arrived on the next day. But it didn't fit. What could it be? A Persona window?

I decided to take my car back because the new window will only come 3 days later.

A friend helped me with my predicament. Thanks ESA.

As a future post will clarify. I need a new Samsung Galaxy Tab charger.

I managed to find a nice fellow on the Lowyat forums by the name of ohde selling the chargers for a reasonable price.

Awesome customer service and polite as well.

Shipped and delivered within 3 days.

Here it is before openation.

Packed with a pretty good amount of filler papers as well.

However was slightly disappointed that the charger was a 2-pin head when my original charger was a 3-pin head. There was also no box so there was no exciting unboxing experience. However it was all done to reduce the cost of the overall purchase. I suppose I can live with that.

Graveyards [pics]

This is a graveyard in Miri. I always look forward to graveyard visits. They always bring about feelings of calm and serenity. There is something about the lonely atmosphere as you come here with your family to a seemingly deserted and abandoned area. Not another family in sight. Just you and your closest relatives.

We've come into the land of where the dead come to rest and where nothing is around to disturb them.

Nothing can be heard except for the soft wind blowing and the leaves rustling against each other.

Occasionally, unburnt pieces from the offering papers blow across in front of you, indicating that possibly moments ago, another quiet family like your own came by to pay their respects.

As you walk past grave upon grave, their ornate coloring betray the grimness of their purpose. And yet there is something about the black and white portrait photos on the headstones which remind you that these graves were built in a different time and yet they somehow show no signs of aging.

The story of this broken grave is unclear but the opened coffin which is unceremoniously tossed to one side seem to indicate a grave robbery. I only went close enough to see lumps of matter of uncertain material lying within the coffin slightly hoping that I wouldn't see a skeleton.

Not wanting to have it burnt into my mind that a deceased person was disrespectfully grave robbed and tossed aside, I silently stepped away from the grave.

Probably not the best way to recharge your phone

In the event of a forest fire resulting in half of your house being burnt down, you may be left with few options for plugging in a phone charger.

In such cases, it is not uncommon for consumers to use the most impractical power outlet for recharging purposes.

Thankfully, my house is fully intact and the phone and charger combo was moved to a safer and less ridiculous location.

I'm not one to buy chocolate for casual eating purposes. If there's any lying around the house I will munch them.

But sooneth did I spake words of mine, TimTams aplenty before me laid spreaded.

Concerned not I of the date of expiry. For time left it has for two months till February.

But oh woe and alas funky fungus sneaked up all upon us.

But time for me t'was not on my side, for sadly by then I've taken a huge bite.

It has strange properties too, it is best-described to be partly solid partly liquid.

Here's the thing, if force is applied suddenly, it's pretty solid. Like if you stretch it out quick enough, it SNAPS. If stretched slowly and gently, it.. um. Stretches.

Sculpt something and leave it, and it starts getting glossy. Yuck. Notice how these sculptures become progressively darker each time.

That's due to the constant dropping or absorbing crap from all over the place.

In case you still haven't discovered Reddit yet, you should probably go take a look. Not only are there memorable rage comics all around, but there are also posts on practically any topic that you may find interesting.

It is essentially a site where users are able to share links or thoughts to interesting subjects. The really interesting ones appear on the frontpage.

There is also an interesting section called the IAmA section where individuals who think they are interesting (politicians, former prison inmates) ask the readers of Reddit to practically ask them anything.

I mainly Reddit for the rage comics though.

Travelling from Pandan Jaya to LCCT Kuala Lumpur

Here's something some people may find interesting.

It's how to get to LCCT from Pandan Jaya lrt station.

So now you're at Pandat Jaya station. Follow the sign that says TO SENTUL TIMUR. Your next stop is to Masjid Jamek station.

Stand by the platform and look into the mighty longkang cum river while imagining how hillarious it would be if a round hairy fat guy were to bob along the river surface pleading for someone to help him.

Stop imagining when the next train arrives and board it.

When you reach Masjid Jamek, you'll have to cross the road to the other side of the station. This should be done with style. (eg: leap out into oncoming traffic, do a roll then land firmly on your feet at the other side)

You could use an underground tunnel too if you wish. But that way is BORING. Also, the station renovations may have sealed the tunnel up. So, tell me whether or not its accesible.

Once you're across the road in the other station, you may start looking for some escalators that lead you underground.

Find the platform that goes to Kelana Jaya. You take this one because you are going to KL Sentral. It is only two stations away so it isn't necessary to pull your iPod touch out.

Once in KL Sentral, all you've got to do is find the large KLIA Transit sign.

Go to the counter (not the machine) and exclaim with authority, "LCCT." (preferably with your left hand on your hip and right hand flat on the counter)

Then place Rm12.50 worth in money on the counter. The person behind the counter will suddenly take your money and give you these:

Take the elevator to quickly reach the air-conditioned waiting room to wait for the train.

Once the train arrives, quickly snatch a seat before that old guy does.

When choosing a seat, try to get the one that faces that cute short haired girl who is probably going to Cyberjaya.

If not, just find those four seat grouped seats and selfishly put your luggage on the seats opposite to you like a spoilt diva.

Not only does this ensure you can rest your legs on the opposite side, it also prevents that guy with the strange smell from sitting near you.

To make it easier for you later, sit as near as possible to the front of the train (near the waiting room)

It's important to be alert when the train stops at Cyberjaya station because that's where the short haired girl gets off at. Also, because the next stop is Salak Tinggi, which is where you'll be getting off.

DISCLAIMER: I am aware that 'Getting off' usually means the pleasing of one's self by stimulating strategic pressure points. Please do not be confused with my previous instructions.

When you reach Salak Tinggi, find the escalator. If you listened and sat near the front of the train, you should be very near to the escalator.

Find this sign and go down the stairs:

There you should be able to see your bus.

Sit near Jason Mraz:

Then ride for about 20 minutes and YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR DESTINATION. IT IS TO YOUR LEFT.

You may go the more affordable route and use the bus shuttle service right from KL Sentral which costs RM9.00 (or RM6.00 online booking if I remember correctly)

Strangely, the time it takes for the so-called "Fast Train" to LCCT plus the bus ride from the Salak Tinggi station to LCCT is also 1 hour.

So in the end it all comes down to your preferences, pay RM3.50 more (or more depending on whether you bundled it with the online booking) for a more comfortable ride or don't pay and arrive ass-numbed 15 minutes later.

And yes there's a currency exchange station in LCCT. Stop calling me at 4 in the morning to ask.

I made it a home! From an unused box given to me by a colleague.

It lives in terror inside the box!

I flung said gecko into a patch of grass at Titiwangsa bus terminal.

Apparently these really are a hit in Japan. And it's developed by some Japanese guy.

An unverified Engadget commenter describes the ringtone as follows:

The link to which you can download said ringtone has been removed though. But at least you get a rough description of what it sounds like.

I imagine the ringtone to sound so emotionally powerful that our female brethren (lol) grab their boobs in passion and pull upwards thus resulting in larger boobs.

Carl's Jr.'s Portions Are Getting Even Smaller

This isn't the first time I've written about Carl's Jr. But I think this won't be the last either.

Well my most recent encounter with them brings good news, the bacon are actually fried now!

But.

Compare the sizes of the most recent bacon and the bacon of yore:

Either they had their portions shrunken or the bacon itself shrinks when fried.

The first case happened in Midvalley and the second case happened in Pavillion. Now you know who's doing this plz fixit thx.

Color Blind Discrimination

I saw this ad somewhere and I am greatly offended good sirs.

It requires me to test my level of intelligence by determining a number in an Ishihara color test.

Am I to assume that if my eyes are unable to detect the number in that mess of spots, I am automatically someone of less intelligence?

So does that mean if I get a Ph.D my color blindness will go away and I can finally fulfill my dream of being a pilot?

Incidentally, there are special lenses for helping the color blind. I should consider investing in some of those. Hard to come by in Malaysialand though.

Incidentally, this tortoise was released into the nearest monsoon drain due to stupid Jojodog constantly trying to consume the water into which this very tortoise poops into.

I suspect that the tortoise is currently choking on a bottlecap and will sooner than later be discovered dead. Requiescat in pace.
